Tomorrow is mid-autumn festival! In Singapore, we celebrate by eating mooncakes. During this month, you'll find hotels, restaurants and bakery shops selling mooncakes. Even Starbucks and Haagen-Dazs carry their own series of mooncakes. I personally prefer those sold by hotels as they taste good and the packaging is usually more attractive. In this case, I do judge a book by its cover...
This was a special request from a sweet customer (she is an old-time acquaintance - my very first local customer!). I was initially worried about doing the sliced pieces as they looked too much of a challenge. But I did it!!! It took me a lot of time but I am really happy with the results.
The yellow one is durian. The green one is traditional pandan with yolk. The pink one is strawberry with jam filling (I don't think I will like the taste in real life). The purple one is raspberry truffle (also too adventurous for me).
I'm off to eat some real mooncakes now. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
