Miniature Tarts

Making food miniatures can be quite addictive! ;) Let's try some rose tarts this time since my fruit canes are not ready yet. I wanted to give this a sweet and luxurious feel.

I love making the white cream. Some miniaturists have tools that are able to squeeze out cream like the real thing but such tools are very rare and expensive in Singapore, so I made do with an eyebrow tweezer (!).

The ones with tiny beads went quite smoothly, but I must have overestimated myself in making the roses. Making a miniature rose is really VERY VERY hard! It is even harder using air dry clay since the clay dries up quickly upon contact with air. I managed to do 6 decent-looking roses after repeated attempts.

I'm happy with the finished product and am waiting for it to dry before putting it up on my Etsy shop ( or Ebay. I welcome pre-order/custom order - please email

Do you make your plates and serving dishes too?
